Kanon Daiba; God Eater
Character Name: Kanon Daiba
Canon & History: God Eater
Personality: An Old-Type/1st Generation God Eater with the 2nd Unit (Defense Team), Kanon is blessed with an extremely high Bias Factor compatibility but has the highest misfire rate in all of Fenrir. Although her training is as a combat medic, her blast gun packs a powerful punch, which is dangerous especially to allies. Many God Eaters refuse to go on missions with her because of this; however, she has a small following that inflates her sortie rate.
Kanon is far from perfect and always screwing up during missions, but she tries to push through regardless, going so far as to accepting missions on her own to train. She gives extra attention to little things like baking and medical skills because she knows she is already good at those, having learned the former from her mother who emphasized that “cooking is firepower”. Her snacks may not be visually appealing but are tasty.
When holding her God Arc, Kanon’s personality does a complete one-eighty; instead of being kind, friendly, and somewhat clumsy, she becomes sadistic, blaming others for standing in her line of fire and even admitting that some of her instances of friendly fire were on purpose. True to her name, she is a loose cannon and can be very reckless in combat, which is not just character fluff—even her AI is programmed to not stop shooting regardless of if there is an ally in her way. Although she prioritizes Recovery Bullets with enough Oracle when allies are low on health, she has the propensity to misfire them into the air as well. Her failure to improve remains a serious issue, and Kanon has confessed that the cause of her mistakes is likely the habit of turning her muzzle to the side right as she fires because her hands are shaking or her eyes are shut.
